Ruben Reniers born in Jakarta, grew up in Rotterdam, where he completed B.A. degree in contemporary dance at CODARTs. His career as a dancer led him to theaters in Germany. His long-term collaboration with Amanda Miller / Pretty Ugly Tanz Köln, as well as collaborations with freelance choreographers, were strong impulses for his artistic development. Since 2009, Reniers pursues his own choreographic works. rubarb dance & art was created in cooperation with illustrator Barbara Steinitz, and focuses on the poetic interplay between energetic, bodyoriented movements and the delicacy of paper art. Renier‘s solo SimulacrumX was awarded at the VI. int. soloDuo Dance Festival NRW, 2015.
