Susanne Martin is a choreographer, performer, researcher, and teacher of contemporary dance. Her artistic practice and research focus on improvisation as choreographic practice, critical narrations of the age(ing) body, contact improvisation, and artistic research. Festivals that presented her performances include: International Dance and Theatre Festival (Gothenburg), Aerowaves (London), Nottdance (Nottingham), Tanec Praha (Prague). In her current research at EPFL Lausanne she researches the potential of dance improvisation to intervene in higher education learning.

About soundance festival berlin

The soundance festival berlin presents joint projects by dancers, choreographers, musicians and composers of the Berlin independent scene and invites international guest artists. As an impulse for the dialogue between the different genres, the festival presents a broad spectrum of artistic styles from contemporary dance to real-time music, from Post Butoh to New Jazz and improvisation – analog and electronic. Cross-generational, diverse works and formats between sound and movement in theater and urban space will be experienced by the audience. The soundance festival berlin was founded in 2017.
