Cansu Ergin is an independent dance maker and lecturer. After studying contemporary dance and choreography in Berlin, Prague and Lisbon, she is now part of the doctoral program at the Contemporary Dance Department at M.Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul. Her artistic research focus aims on the relation between dance context and music, somatic movement practices and improvisation performances to go deeper in the body and the mind. Cansu has worked with Meg Stuart, Vera Mantero, Mark Tompkins, Joe Alegado, K.J. Holmes a.o. Her dance pieces have travelled internationally, and received several prizes.

About soundance festival berlin

The soundance festival berlin presents joint projects by dancers, choreographers, musicians and composers of the Berlin independent scene and invites international guest artists. As an impulse for the dialogue between the different genres, the festival presents a broad spectrum of artistic styles from contemporary dance to real-time music, from Post Butoh to New Jazz and improvisation – analog and electronic. Cross-generational, diverse works and formats between sound and movement in theater and urban space will be experienced by the audience. The soundance festival berlin was founded in 2017.
